Default Rear Suspension Squeek

Hey everyone.

New to posting on the forums, but have been a long time user of HT. There is so much information stored on this forum its crazy amazing. However, i have a question to ask and it may seem so stupid, sorry in advance.

But i was wondering what could be causing a loud squeek from the rear of my EK when i go over the stupid bumpy roads up here in Canada. Pay enough in taxes lol. Could it be a bearing of some sort that needs replacing?

Thank you in advance, appreciate any info.

How old is the car? Maybe new shocks?

Your description is too vague for us to pinpoint anything, unfortunately. It could be a number of things depending on other symptoms you may or may not have.

1.) shock - push on the back of your car without it moving and see if it squeaks at you.

2.) bushing - camber link, control arm or tophat bushings sometimes squeak when they're starting to wear. Usually you'll feel sloppiness in the rear of the car as a result.

3.) brief metal-on-metal contact - very unlikely as this usually results from bent components that almost always come with more severe symptoms.

Try to listen when you're turning and such to isolate more variables. We can help if you can feed us info

Its a 2000, 8 years though, was made end of 99, one of the first 2000s off the line. Its done 149,000km/92,500 miles. If i have to get new shocks, now might be a cost effective time to put aftermarket shocks in. Its my daily driver but lowering an inch or two would look classy.

I have pushed on the rear of the car, it doesnt make the same squeek. But its those pesky manhole covers and potholes which cause my rear end to sound like a mouse. lol And it happens on straights usually. Thanks everyone for the quick replys.

Tein S-Tech shocks and KYB AGXs make a fantastic combination for slight lowering and great ride quality.
