Rear quarter panel
I didnt know where to post this... so this morning i decided to hit a pole. instead of hitting the front and messing up the hood bumper all that good stuff, i thought that the rear quarter panel would be better on a del sol. The dent is to big to cut out i think and to big for bondo. So i was wondering what i could do to fix it.
Thanks in advance

Re: Rear quarter panel (no-psi)
Dude......That sucks......Take it to a good body man and have it hammered and dollied out....Or worst comes to worst you might have to dolly it,then uni-spot it and pull it out....Either way bondo is most likely gonna be needed.....Good luck

Re: (no-psi)
Your friend should know what a "spitznagel gun" is. It is a tack welder that tacks little nail like rods to the surfface metal, work around the dent and then into the center, then go back around with a dolly hammer and pull out to the best of your ability. after that, cut the nail rods off, sand them down, and start the heat shrinking process. Heat shrinkng is where you go through all of the smaller dents created by pulling the bigger ones. The process is basically heating up the rim of the dent into the center with a torch until the metal is red, then putitng a sopping wet rag on it right after. This forces the metal to reform in the more disireable position. This all has to be done from the outside in fo the best results. Then when you are done, sand off all that masty black crap, make it as smooth as possible with some 600 grit sand paper, and then you fill in the remaining dents with the bondo.
Heat shrinking is crucial to reinforce the strength of the metal, kind of cool too. After the bondo, you should have the rest. Wish you luck.
