rear oxygen sensor woes
Howdy. I just picked up a 96 dx hatch off a buddy of mine. When he purchased it he went and spent some $2300 on parts and had me install them. I put on an aftermarket header. Of course with this model the cat is in the exhaust manifold near the head. So recently I put a new cat converter underneath the car after the header, and grabbed a bosch universal 4 wire o2 sensor. I wired it up per the instructions, and the cel finally went off about 800 miles later. I go to autozone to have the diagnostic **** done, and the code is still there. Does it need to be reset? Does it need rewired? Anyone have any diagrams that are a little more user friendly? I need to have the car emission tested soon, and it automatically fails if there are any codes. The cel light is off, but the code is still there...........any ideas?? Mucho Gracias

Re: rear oxygen sensor woes (Slosc2)
Disconnect both wires from your battery and touch them together. That will completely drain your car of any power in the system, erasing any stored CELs, your clock, and radio buttons. (Not that the last two matter. )

Re: rear oxygen sensor woes (nota-eg)
Cool....... Any other input here? Maybe somethings i should look at? Of course the wires on the new o2 sensor were all different colored than the factory set, so I followed the directions that came with the o2, and wiring diagram in the haines manual, to the best of my knowledge. If these wires were backwards in anyway, wouldnt the CEL still be on?
Just looking for a little more input/advice.
