You sure you got the right set?

You don't have to seal it, just clean every thing good, lube the inside if the seal with oil (the outside doesn't need any lube), and install. Just make sure you get it in there straight and don't scratch the crank.

After you get the flywheel off you should be free and clear, just pop the old one out and put the new one in.

Take the flywheel off pop the old seal out lube the new one and press the new one in, you can use a piece of pvc pipe and tap the new seal in place nice and even. You can use some some of the gasket tack stuff around the outer lip of the seal were it mates with the case but thats not really nescissary. ejoner

if your sure just the rear main is leaking then just tap in the new seal if its the cover that holds the rear main seal in, then you have to drop the oil pan and take the cover off and use silicone or the gasket they gave you......

i pretty sure its the rear main seal.... cuz i replaced all the gaskets i could out side the car like valve cover and oil pan.... so the i just figured it would be the rear man seal.. cuz it was still leaking oil and i used silicone around both vavle cover and oil pan gaskets!! i dont wanna have to drop the tranny again if it keeps leaking... where else is there gaskets that would need to be replaced while the tranny is off????

Axle seals if you like, it's easier with the tranny out.

I hope you didn't put sealer on the whole oil pan gasket, just in the 4 corners by the crank.
