Rear lower strut bar vs Rear lower tie bar
Whats the difference between the 2? If i was to put one on would it cancel the other one out? Or would it be ok to have both? (already have upper front and rear strut bars)

Rear strut bar ties the rear end together at the top of the strut mounts.
Rear lower tie binds the lower chassis together at the rear lower control arms.
No they dont cancel eachother out, they can work quite nicely together.

You talking about a rear "UPPER" strut bar? i'm kinda confused... I'm askin the difference between a rear "LOWER STRUT" BAR and rear "LOWER TIE" BAR...or are they the same...

Yes they are the same name for the same pointless mod.
If you want to add anything in that area that will actually make a difference in handling, add a rear SWAYBAR, not a strut bar.

check out one of those rear lower tie/sway-bar combos
you'll notice a difference then

I wouldn't call it pointless. Besides, if it was, why would the ITR, CTR and many other cars come stock with one. However as you suggest a swaybar will do a lot more for your handling.

Sure they serve a purpose as part of a complete suspension, but they are also one of the first bling bling wannabe tuner mods out there.
A rear swaybar will be much more noticable.

ya, I have just a tie bar and it doesn't make much of a diff without the swaybar it seems. Putting the swaybar on pretty soome though so I'll know for sure. The rear upper strut bar helps a lot too.

Every time I go to buy a ITR sway bar there is never one in stock.
I might try this weekend.

Re: Rear lower strut bar vs Rear lower tie bar (Apex i ITR)
question for the original poster. Do you have an upgraded suspension??? IF not, dont bother wasting your money on bars right now. If you do, then basically what kommon and Tom are trying to say is, without a FULL suspension bar package 1 single bar will not give you enough support for noticable chassis correction... Ok?

Good points. In my experience, a stiffer spring/shock combo makes a much more noticeable difference. The addition of a sway bar to such a setup does make some improvement, but if it is strictly street driving you will be hard pressed to notice a large difference with or without any of the bars. Track use, like autocrossing, etc. might prove what kind of a difference the suspension braces really make.
