Default Rear Lip + Exhaust = ?

Hey guys, I was just wondering... I'm going to be purchasing a front and rear lip soon from island motorsports and they are made out of ABS. I'm going to get them painted too. The question is, when I get an exhaust... will my rear lip melt? Anyone had this problem? Thanks.

If your muffler is against the plastic then yes it could melt the lip

Hmm, yeah I bet it would.. Mine has about, maybe a little less than half an inch around it, and there is no sign of meltage at all...

Easy tip: insert something in the rubber hangers that will lengthen them enough to bring the muffler down to an appropriate amount. Use zip-ties to hold the insertions in place. I had teflon pieces cut to size; others have used pieces of PVC pipe ... whatever you want to use is fine as long as it's sturdy. This is what I did when my A'PEXi N1 was burning my rear bumper. Worked great for the two years I had it like this and required very little effort to do.

Ive noticed that my exhaust melted my back bumper a bit, but not too much. Still, do everythign possible to avoid your back bumper.
