Rear hatch gate: How to remove?

Rear hatch gate: How to remove?
ok I know how to remove it 98% of the way. For the wiring harness that goes inside the lower gate... does it disconnect (if I want to remove the entire gate) from the gate itself or from the interior of the car? Looks like if I removed it from the gate itself re-routing it later would be a bitch. I am hoping that there is a quick idsconnect just inside the hatch rear interior panels. Help?
