rear disk brakes on 92 civic 2dr, what ebrake cables to use?
I've got a friend that has a 92 civic 2dr coupe, and he got the complete disk brake conversion off of a wrecked 00 GSR. Everything is bolted up, and he's hooking up the cables and they are 2-3 inches short of hooking up to the ebrake. All the brackets bolted into place fine, but he thinks he needs a different cable. Anyone have some experience with this and knows what cable to use.

Re: (s_18)
is the EX abs 95? He said something about a 95 civic that came with factory disk brakes.
so also 99-00 si cables, and ls integra cables (90-01, or 94-01?).
So the GSR cable is not the one he should be using?

ok. Now I remember that he has 94-up LS rear trailing arms/disks. It was just the 00 gsr calipers & ebrake cable that he got.

I have a 96 civic, and I used GSR cables, and they DO fit but were a bit long, no problem just had to adjust it all the way to the back. If there too short, you can go get a longer bolt for the adjusting pin.

Thaks for the info. I just got a set of 94-up LS ebrake cables from a friend so were gonna try those out.
Yes the car is a 92-95 style civic ex coupe. I'm not exactly sure of the year, but thought it was a 92, cause it only has the steering wheel airbag, not the one on the passenger dash too.

it's a 93... only in 93 were pass side airbags optional...
and I have 00 Si ebrake cables and they work fine. not suuuuppper strong but good enough where I'll never have to worry about them giving.

Ok, got the 94-up LS cables and measured one to the 00 gsr cable and it's the same length.
Here's the deal. He has the right side one bolted up from the back to the front. But it's not long enough at the front to be bloted down by the bracket that holds them to the floor. It's about 1.25" short.
By comparing the other gsr cable to same side (left) ls cable it's the same length and is probably going to bolt up the same.
Did you guys that have done this bolt the calbe down in place using all the mounting brackets? Cause if we unbolted the 2nd bracket from the front (the one that doesn't slide), it would give us the slack we need to reach the bracket inside the car and connect to the ebrake. But then the calbe will have some play in it and won't be secure cause the first bracket slides. And that would leave the last bracket to hold the cable tight at the back.
