Rear disc question SEARCHED
I have some DA Trailing arms that I was going to swap for my EF, But got to looking at it, and was wondering can you just unbolt the big nut in the rear of the hub, and just swap hubs? It's going onto a 93 CX Hatch. Reason I ask, I have brand new ES bushings in my CX trailing arms, and don't want to loose all that for discs. But the drums are shot so, now time to upgrade.
Footnote: Can you swap hubs on the trailing arms for a disc hub?
Thanks! - Ashby

He cant swap bushings, because the DA bushings are larger than civic/DC...even though the poly TA bushings are a bad, bad idea.
Anyway....yeah, as said, you can just swap the rear hubs - search to find how

Thanks alot! I have had a bunch of yes answers, and a lot more NO answers. The bushings are larger so I already ruled that out, so we'll give this hub thing a shot. Also, while were on the topic, why is it a bad idea for the poly bushings?
EDIT: This is my brothers name.

bad because poly bushings on the TA do not allow for proper motion, cause binding, and can slide around along the metal insert under cornering.
Search and you'll find more of the same reasons.

Re: (p00n)
That was true of the original design but not of the design currently sold by ES and Prothane. I've had prothane rear TA bushings on my EG for over three years now. They're still the same as brand new and have never exhibited any of the problems people claim here on HT. Rubber bushings in that spot go to **** in a very short amount of time leading to worse problems than what people claim the urethane bushings cause.
