rear disc dragging
just did a rear disc swap awhile back and haven't drove my car for more that 20 miles. i don't drive it much i actually did the swap last month. either way when i jack the car up and spin the wheels i can hear the pads drag on the rotors just slightly. i have the e-brake cable adjusted all the way out almost falling off. is this just a sound that will go away? the calipers have a fresh build on them and the rotors are brand new

if your not driving it often, its rust that formed on the rotor. mine makes the same sound if it is parked for a while, and there is a heavy rain. it will go away if you drive it.

if its just slightly i think you're fine. especially if the calipers are rebuilt and the rotors are brand new. disc brakes always have the slightest contact with the rotors. and yeah if theres moisture and a little bit of rust started then itll definatly sound like its dragging.

well there is no rust or anything on them. i just lifted the car and spun the wheels after driving a little last night and no change in the sound put the e-brake still works and they stop me, so i guess they are okay

Re: rear disc dragging (jdmeg9)
I hear the same noise with my brakes and it bothers the hell out of me but the pads are wearing fine along with the rotors, just make sure to check the pads often so you can tell if a caliper is possibly sticking, you'll see that if one pad is worn down signifigantly more then the other side say one has 1/4 left and the other is like new.
Also did you put that brake lube **** on all the moving parts? that will cause the caliper to not slide back all the way and slightyl hang up on your rotor as well.

I agree with Noct, make sure you use brake lub when you re-assemble. This keeps your pads from wearing incorrectly and a host of other issues.

either way just took it out for a spin last night to get it out of the garage for a sec and sounds like i will have to take it all off anyway because of wheel bearings

wheel bearings can sometimes sound similar to tires out of balance. At least in my past expiriences. Before you rip that all apart, grab the wheel and shake it back and forth, if theres play and your lugs are tight, then you need wheel bearings. if not, tires could be out of balance... also, drivng down the street, go down the road turning back and forth, if the noise gets louder one way and quieter the other, its wheel bearings. If you already know this, i aplologize for rambling.
