rear disc conversion: weight?
anyone have a rear disc setup they have kicking around that you can throw on a scale? i am curious what the disc setup weighs. i prefer actual weight, not "dizzamn that **** is like 50lbs yO!"
i just got a drum setup, and i would like to know if the disc setup is lighter or heavier. i searched and got conflicting reports. thanks.

20-21lbs for the hub/rotor/caliper with rubber brake line and axle nut attached! (one side)

Reading this I'm seeing all types of numbers. I've got a 91 with rear drums and I'm looking to convert to the disc setup. Obviously it's a 4-lug patter (4x100 if it matters) I've heard the DRUM was less weight? I'm doing the rear disc despite the weight due to sliding purposes ( 
) but I"m still just curious for the mythbust...?

i have heard the same thing. guess i'll weigh a friends rear disc setup (not for a few weeks) and compare that to my 5 lug setup as well. also, it is my understandng (again, total hearsay as i never weighed the parts myself) that the ef drum setup is lighter/smaller then the eg/ek. i will post my findings soon.

What i weighed was a front and rear setup off a '00 teg. The scale I used was an old bathroom scale. I tried to calibrate it as best I could, but it might be a little off. My drums are presently on my car so I can't compare.

Nice. Yeah, I mean I don't care so long as the scales accurate +/- 2 or 3 pounds. If it's on the same scale then accuracy Id on't give a ***t about.

Unreal! The discs are seriously lighter by a pound? Damn...every single person I've ever asked has told me that the discs weigh significantly more than the drums.

Front: 37-38lbs

okie, that sounds more like it. my 99 civic dx (9.4 fronts, drum rear) is 33.2 for the front and 35.2 for the rear. tomorrow i will be weighing a set off a 98 teg front and rear, then this sunday my ITR setup. so i will let you know my findings.
