Default rear disc conversion question.

hey guys i know that there is a little help in the faqs but i need a quick answer.

i have a 92 hatchback dx and i am wanting to kno if the rear discs off of a 90 integra will fit it as i have one of these for parts.

i kno that the 94-01 should fit but im not too sure about the 90 model.

a few of my friends said that it should bolt right up, but i thot i would ask the experts.

thanks guys.

yes it will fit. u have to use ur stock LCA arms though. everything else should swap right over no problem.
Or you can do what i did and take the rear spindle off of the integra that is held from the back by 4 t50 torx bolts i believe and swap that over to your trailing arm. I did this cause my stock TA bushing were in better conditions then the other ones.

I have a 92 CX with rear drums, could someone list EVERYTHING I'd need for Rear AND front Teg Brake conversion? For the front can I just pull off the Civic caliper and put on a Teg one with Teg rotor, or are they the same? and what is involved for the rear?

almost all the trailing arms are the same. all u gota do is use your

a. lower control arms off your car
b. upper control arms off your car
c. alignment arms off your car

the only real diff in trailing arms is some of the bushings are bigger or smaller.... not by much though

What parts do I need though... so I tear off the rear drums... Mount up Teg rear brake lines/Ebrake cable. Then what do I need?

You need teg rear trailing arms with caliper(get new rotors and pads)
u reuse your stock rear UCA and stock LCA if ur using DA TA's. If you get 94-01 teg TA's u can swap everything over to your car (UCA's, LCA's, and toe adjusters.)
For the fronts you need 94-01 teg or 94-95 civic EX/SI front knuckles with Calipers (get new pads and rotors) everything should bolt right up. You might want to get a 4040 prop valve from a non abs integra and also a 15/16 non abs MC. If you want you can get the 91 civic ex 15/16 MC and that should be a straight bolt on to your Brake booster. hope that helps

Using DA TA's? Whats that mean? And the front I just need new Knuckles and calipers. Whats a prop Valve, and EX 91 Civic Master Cylinder is better than the 92 CX?

Lots of stupid questions I know... I have been modding a 93 Taurus SHO for a long while and sold it a while back and aquired this car for free so I'm kind of Blind to hondas.

DA TA's= 90-93 integra Trailing arms.
the DA integra and the DC integras all came with 4 wheel disk brakes. they also came with the 4040 prop valve which spreads the brake fluid evenly through all the 4 corners. Your cx comes with 4030 or 3030 prop valve, one of the 2 because u have only front disks and rear drums. if u were to only do the rear disk convo u wouldnt need to change the prop valve, but since u are upgrading the front to integra specs u need to change the prop valve so u get enough brake fluid to all 4 corners. you also need the bigger 15/16th master cylinder from the 91 civic ex because u need to be able to push more fluid to the front brakes since the caliper/piston is bigger than ur stock cx one. hope it makes sense, im typing fast cause i need to go to work soon.

Just use the 99-00 Si e-brake cables and brake lines and it is a direct fit.

it will fit you just need to use your own suspension arm and buy a emergency brake cable.

Last question is then "Since I dont want to replace Master cylinder/prop Valve are the front brakes for my Civic really that bad? Can I just toss on some decent pads/Rotors up front and toss Disks on the back and expect some serious gains?

Upgrading to discs in the back isn't going to net you better stopping distances. If that's why you're considering this option, I'd do some more research before you waste your time. Discs resist fade better than drums but, otherwise, don't do much to strengthen the braking system.

If you want to stop with some force, leave the rear drums alone and install the Integra brake booster and master cylinder. That will make much more of a difference than rear discs.

right now i have 00 Si rear disks, stock cx fronts, brembo blanks all around with axxis pads and i like the way it stops, i feel so much more comfortable driving my car compare to my parents 02 explorer. It might be the weight difference but i dont like the soft pedal feeling that the explorer has either. I would recommend getting the rear disk just because its way easier working on disks brakes than drums. If you dont want to upgrade the fronts thats ok, just get brembo blanks and a good set of pads. you will notice the difference

I have the exact car as you with an H22 in it. I also am trying to do the exact brake swap as you. Good to know someone else is out there doing the same thing as i am.
