Default rear disc brake piston problemo

ive figured out by now that you are supposed to screw them back in to compress them, but what i am wondering is wouldnt twisting the piston around make that boot that surrounds it rip and tear apart????????? i dont wanna break the damn thing???

I was designed to work that way so it shouldn't tear. Just make sure your brake resevoir cap is off when reversing pressure in the brake line. If you don't take the cap off you can damage your master cylinder.

You're supposed to put oil on it to help keep it from ripping. I didn't, though, and had no problems.

ditto. had no problems with the boot. while you have it out, you might want to think about greasing the pins on the caliper.
