Rear Brakes barely touch rotor on '00 Si
Vehicle: 2000 Civic Si with just over 100K on the clock
So for awhile now I've been dealing with rear brakes that hardly work and from an autox and future track day stand point this isn't good.
I've had a mechanic friend tell me its a typical issue with honda's and I shouldn't waste my money. I had one seized caliper and I replaced that and it didn't do much to grab the entire rotor, the pad only grabs 1/4 of the rotor now. The other side grabs even less.
I'm to the point where I'm considering replacing the brake lines with stainless, the calipers with new honda units on both sides and even considering the master cylinder... I just want these to work as intended!
Any advice? I'm currently running powerslot rotors and hawk pads but everything else brake wise is stock.
BTW, everything is properly lubricated so it's not the slides. The system has been bleed multiple times, has plenty of fluid yet when I press down on the pedal its easy to make it go to the floor...

I'd make sure there aren't any leaks in the system. If the pedal is going to the floor there's either a leak / air in the system. A non-stiff pedal will cause the pistons of the calipers to not fully engage. Check your master cylinder (the unit itself) as this is a very common cause of a sinking pedal.

There isnt a leak in the system because after bleeding the brakes I top off the fluid and it hasn't gone down at all. Brake fluid is stuff from parts store, not the cheapest but not the most expensive either.

I have the same mileage on my EM1. I had a problem with my ebrake even working, not sure how well the rear brakes themselves even worked. But, like many rear disk setups, after time, the calipers can stick and not work properly even with adjustment, so i bought new ones.....problem solved

I know that your car is 2000, but that's still about 10 years. If the pedal is going to the floor I would suggest that you check your master cylinder, and read my other thread about this issue here. your seal may be going out from your constant bleeding https://honda-tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes-54/how-bleeding-old-master-cylinder-can-increase-failure-rate-2846980/
