Really need help. wierd story. H22a
Okay so i have a 99 civic ek coupe ex. i have an h22a swap. i was driving down the road today and my car started to bog down on me so i down shifted and hit the gas again and it bogged and cut off, so i coasted into a parking lot and popped my hood. the first thing i did was pull off my spark plug wires and out comes oil. what could this be, ive heard head gasket but their was no noise and no water in my oil, also their was no puddle of oil. ive also heard cracked head. ive heard busted seal aroung the spark plugs.. im unsure. so i replaced the plugs and it still wont crank but i believe one of the spark plugs is cross threaded. helpppppp!

i had a problem similar to yours w/ my old F22B2 where this happened to only one of my cylinders. oil came out of the spark plug hole, and the plug was oil fouled. my piston rings were letting oil buy fouling out my plug. but that is weird for that to happen at the same time. good luck

ok, oil is comming from the engine under the spark plug? or is it just around your spark plug?
If it is just everywhere when you pop out your spark plugs, then take off your valve cover and get a new valve cover gasket and spark plug seal gasket. then pull the spark plugs and clean them up and clean all the oil. its ok to pull the plugs and let the oil drain into the pistons. put em back in and keep starting it till it starts.
I highly doubt its the piston rings.

im leaning on the valve grommets/gasket. however im not sure why that would make it not start, try running a compression and leak down test to check the rings, really easy and takes a few minutes

yeah..like said..valve cover gasket. there are four spark plug gaskets that should come in the valve cover gasket set. h22a's had some big problems with those four circle gaskets leaking oil onto your spark plugs and or wires. lighlty sand the valve cover before you install the four spark plug gaskets.
you mention bogging down. was it sputtering to a stop or did the car just die with no throttle response?
can you hear the fuel pump prime?
when you crank the motor is it really quick in pace or does it go RA-na-na-na with the distintive "na" sound?

its not starting because the oil is messing with the spark and not allowing it to travel through the spark plugs. thats why he needs to clean it good.

i know thats why it might not start, but i think its pretty unlikely. Its a really tight fit, and ive seen many cars with bad valve cover gaskets and soak plug wires and theyll run just fine. But it would be good to clean it none the less
