Really dirty motor
Im going to be selling my jdm gsr motor thats been sitting in my garage for while. The motor is really dirty. Here is a really really bad picture.
It's pretty much like that all around. What can i use to clean the motor, such as cleaning product and brush?
The motor is sitting in the back of a lifted taundra, so i am not able to bring it down to high pressure wash it. I heard of simple green, but i am not sure if it would work. Also, the exhaust and intake manifold are off, so the holes are wide open. Anybody got any suggestion on what i can/should do.

Re: (97Ej6mike)
So simple green AND elbow grease? In that order?
Is it really necessary to use both?
Any idea on the open manifolds? I might be spraying it down with a regular house hose after im done.

Regular hose, but with a nozzle set to a very light spray/ mist.
Anything open, stuff with rags/towels or any cloth to prevent moisture from entering. Dont deliberatly spray close to any ports, just wipe them all down by hand.

You're joking, right? I think I might have to use that one for a signature quote! Not making fun, but got a good chuckle.

Re: (jhammond_82)
I don't think it's sig worthy. It was just a question, but whatever gives you a giggle i guess.
Anyways, here is what 30 mins and some simple green did for me. (No elbow grease, did't have enough for it)

Re: (VTAC-KAT)
If you was to see it before, then believe me.
There is a really big difference.
And plus, im just getting it ready for selling mode. Not going into my car. ( I would never swap out my C5 for that)

elbow grease is a figure of speech meaning "scrub with a towel and hands"
so purchase simple green at your local auto store and then give that stuff a good rubbing (your arm moving back and forth = elbow grease) on your engine... LOL
You are going to be a hit on HT spintboy... lol
