Real Quick Noob/stupid/question i should Know question....
My friend just bought a 93' Del Sol Si; or so she thinks. I popped the hood and saw a single cam, it was too dirty to see the code on the block and at the time i didn't feel like getting my fingers dirty to wipe around to see the code. I always thought SI's came with atleast a dual cam motor, question is..what motor comes in a Del Sol SI? It doesn't say VTEC on the valve cover, i never felt VTEC in the car, normally I would know this kind of stuff, but you tell me... sorry about the dumb question thanks guys

In 1993 I think the Si del sol came with a single cam. Im not sure what block code it was probally a Z6. If you really want to know if your friend has vtec or not check to see if he has a vtec solenoid.

I didn't look that hard, lol. this motor has to be a D series, the car is bone stock, she bought it from a dealer with 70,000 miles on it.
Would an Si have a D series in it? I thought SI's were made a little towards performace so I don't see why there would be a D in there..

I know the si del sol was a sohc vtec it should be a d16z6 the same engine that came in the 92-95 civic Si and the 92-95 civic Ex. The del sol didn't start having the dohc until 95 I think, and they where badged as a vtec

except the regular itr would have b16 and the itr vtec would have a c5. i guess the trim names on the del sol were based off the eg engines. stupid honda
