Default Re-installing transmission

i just pulled out my transmission to replace my clutch, i managed to remove the trany with only removing one axle all the way can i put it back in with out tearing apart the other side its still bolted.

what do you meant you did not unbolt the tranny and it came out just like that??? wow ??
but if you unbloted one side that's allright. installation is the reverse of removal..

i think he means he removed his passenger side axle and didnt pull the driver side axle out, only out of the tranny.
if you can line the axle up when reinstaling the tranny then go ahead.... hardest part i had when reinstaling tranny was geting those crapy little pins lined up from the motor/tranny! just grease up the axle shaft before poping it back in to let it slide into place awhole lot easier!

No, you must remove the other axle, me and a friend tried to do this on his '95 hatch, spent like 3 hours at least trying to get it on with the axle still in. Finally we took the axle out and it slid right on.

you probably didnt grease up the axle shaft and didnt have it lined up right.
i had a hell of a time trying to get my axle back in with it dry on my 99 when i was changing the alternator but once i greased it up it slide in and locked very easily.

koo i just wasent sure first time i do a tranny on a honda, i work on ford powerstrokes. am just gona do it like that if it starts getting difficult ama remove the other axle thanks!!
