rattel at 2500 rpm

rattel at 2500 rpm
I am not sure but it sounds like my cat rattels at 2500 rpm and i checked the bolts and every thing and it does not appear to be lose in any way. has any one ever had a problem like this?

the stuff inside could be breaking up or it could be your muffler. my stock muffler has a hole in it so it rattles on the decel at about 2500 rpm too

well what kinda rattle is it a vibration and does it go away after 2500? because depending on the metal of the exhaust piping and the frame at 2500 they could be matching and thats why u feel that.

do you have a modified exhaust sytem? because maybe the rubber bouncers are out because rubber will keep the vibration down a lot and the bolts the connect the cat should have springs in the to cut down on ratlilng and vibration also.

Mine did the same thing at 2500 rpm and between 3k and 3.5k. It was the bottom end of the header and the cat or the b-pipe.

it could be either the insides of the cat or the heat shield of the cat. if it is a heat shield then just get it welded back on to the cat
