raod trip to mississippi ! in my 94 dx hatch
My freind and I went on a road trip from Hartford, CT to Columbus, MS in my 94 Civic DX hatch. We logged significant events along the way. Here is a copy of that log.
Depatrure 9:30 AM Tuesday 21st of august
10:14 - Spoted a Porsche 911 Turbo ( very sweet )
10:18 - Spotted a Datsun 280 ZX ( with a B.A.W. )
10:21 - I was driving ( Patrick ) and Manny was noting that the car in front of us
a 91-94 celica ( not sure what year ) hardly had any head room, there
were 3 guys in the car... they looked like they would crack there heads on
the roof of the car of they hit even the sightest bump, well... while trying
to see how much head room I had in my Civic I almost took a left turn into
a guard rail.
10:29 - Spotted a pastel yellow porsche 911 turbo
10:33 - Stuck in traffic, I think im making Manny nervous bu stopping soooo close
to the bumper of the Explorer that is in front of us.
10:49 - Manny nearly breaks his hand while sticking his hand out the window to hit
some traffic cones at like 40 mph ! CONE WAS KNOCKED DOWN !
10:55 - Enterd NY state
10:59 - Spotted a Silver NSX liscense plate said SILVRUSH ( VERY SWEET ! )
11:25 - Entered NJ
11:30 - 11:50 -REST STOP ! Time for Burger King, and top off the tank ( 1/2 tank )
Manny gets his aviators !
12:00 - Back on I-95
12:33 - Almost got sideswiped by a big *** Ford van
1:27 - Eminem spotted driving a 99 Miata smokin a stogy !
1:32 - Getting Manny a bottle of water vrom the hatch, crawling throught to the
back seat, he desides he wants to be an *** and slam on the breaks to
see if i will go flying
ha !
2:52 - I-81 S , there is a truck in fromt of us that has ***** ! ********* !
hanging from its license plate !
3:43 - WEST VIRGINA !
4:04 - 400 miles later, we arrive in virgina
4:06 - Red neck alert ! ! ! We just passed a Ford F-350 towing what else....
A souped up trackter with some 50" tires and 2 ! count them 2 V8's !
very scary, but yet very powerful
4:12 - Finally ! a nice car ! a black TRD Toyota Celica !
4:17 - Trip odometer reads 417
4:18 - Trip odometer reads 418
4:19 - Trip odometer reads 419
4:20 - Trip odometer reads 420
4:21 - We waved at this old guy driving a 4th gen Civic hatch Si
he looked very confused
4:21 - Trip odomiter reads 421
4:50 - Stopped for gas and TACO BELL !!!!
4:59 - Made fun of the locals, some guy had this really really heavy accent !
and he seemed really stupid... he kept asking the lady behind the counter
" whats my order number "
5:10 - Patrick's quote " hip hip hurray for plastic surgery !"
7:15 - Still in Virgina
7:19 - We are being followed by Optimus Prime, Hopefully we will not get caught
in an Autobot / Decepticon battle
7:24 - We have now lost sight of Optimis Prime, I now feel confident that if
Megatron or Starscream will attack, we will not get caught in the cross fire
7:48 - We smell something burning, hopefully its VA
8:10 - A napkin started flying around in the car & patrick promptly grabbed it and
stuffed it in his mouth and then began to chew it up and spit it out
i think VA is starting to get toi him
9:06 - stopped for gas and coffee before leaving VA
9:19 - just a little lost , mapquest.com gives horrible directions ! Manny is on the
phone with joe trying to regulate everything
9:20 - Just downed a jones energy drink ( tastes F'n great ! )
9:25 - Fake optimus prime sighted
10:13 - Patrick sticks arm out the window for a second and gets struck by a bug
going at 100 MPH ! IT HURTS !
11:58 - Manny wants his meatball grinder from the cooler after eating leftover
taco from taco bell and a chicken sandwich. Patrick goes to the hatch
while we were traveling 75 mph and gets the grinder.
12:00 - Manny bites into the soggy grinder and complains, "Ewww, salty water"
as he sucks it out of the bread.
12:01 - Patrick throws the soggy half of the grinder over a jersey barrier.
12:40 - Got some gas and cigarettes. Smokes were $3.25 a pack. Manny runs
around the gas station to stretch his legs.
12:46 - Entered Alabama
12:49 - 1,000 miles on trip odometer while traveling 100 mph.
1:30 - Manny falls asleep.
3:00 - Manny wakes up.
3:26 - We hit a large rotting animal carcus in the middle of the road. Now the
civic smells like death and patrick is very disturbed by this incident.
3:35 - Alabama smells like cat food, You know... the dry stuff thats in a box
3:38 - mack truck passes at us, manny looks at truck / patrick sees a huge blood
stain on the ground
3:39 - As i wrote this last passage Manny tried to avoid a possom in the middle of
the road, but ran over its skull by accedent, it sounded like a golf ball
hitting a sheet of plywood
3:49 - Manny discovered that if you drive on the dotted white lines on the road
the make some sort of whisteling noise as you roll over them
3:50 - DEER !!!! ... just kidding
3:52 - nny sights a blood stain " Eww there was like.. blood and guts all over the
place
3:55 - manny is honking the horn and giving moths and bugs the finger and saying
FU*K YOU !
3:55 (30 seconds ) - speed limit sign says 45 MPH, Manny honks at it and gives it
the finger !
4:00 - Patrick started beating Manny with a loaf of bread that was
in the car
4:00 - Patrick stuck the loaf of bread out the window and it was flying !
" It was flying i tell you ! flying ! "
4:01 - Mississippi ! speed limit 70 mph ! and there is only a $250 fine for littering !
4:20 - we arrive at joes
TIME FOR SOME WELL NEEDED REST !
unfortunatlly we had no film for either of our cameras , but on the trip home there will be many pictures for all of you to see !

we aregoing to be leavint mississippi on tuesday morning.. so be ready for another story aboutthe trip home on wednesday after noon ! i love taking road trips ! specially in my civic ! i got so much room ! fit all my clothes and crap in the back with a cooler !
