have a 98 civic ex with headers and full 3" exhaust and intake...had a really odd electrical issue the other day lost all power alternator and battery tested out fine ended up being the fuse so I know a fuse blowing is symptom not a fix......blown for alt and spd sensor so im starting to think the busted spd sensor is the problem
speed sensor works randomly now and my rpms seem a bit lower then normal at idle like 200-400 at idle seems low use to idle around 900-1.1k
1.what all could blow that fuse for alt and spd sensor?
2. speed sensor jumping around possibly from a bad ground
3. what's the standard rpm
sorry im not much of a car guy as far as knowledge goes but I do some fine bolt turning......lol

Re: Random questions
Ideal idle is 750 +/- 50RPM 2nd something is shorting out. 3rd why the hell do you have a 3'' exhaust on your single slammer civic ?

Re: Random questions
guess im adjusting the timing and for the exhaust it came that was bought It used a few months back as it sits now for pretty much $1.2k haven't had any issues with it at all until recent got it back in may
to be honest looks like guy before me had plans to turbo and ran outta money.....I just got it cuase I traded in a 86 junker and got it for basicly nothing

Re: Random questions
You don't adjust the timing cause of an upgraded(no so much in this case) exhaust ! lol. how do you find a short first inspect the wire visually then if nothing comes up start probing with a test light. for the vss acting up I deal with that before on my teg, inspect that the wires are seated in the plug and that there is no corrosion,
