random misfiring

Default random misfiring

i have a civic hx and changed out the wires, plugs, cap and rotor and still have misfire in 1,2,3

what is the cause of this since i changed out those parts?

can't figure it out need help

Clean the EGR valve and its port and passages in the EGR chamber.

could be your distributor...had the same problem it ended up being a sensor inside of the distributor...

Is there any unusual attributes on the spark plugs that you pulled out? i.e.

glazing (yellowish), deposits (oily, sooty carbon, etc.), unusual/usual wear, blistered, etc.

These can help you diagnose your engine running characteristics.

not that i noticed...the tips were a light black

I just cleaned it out and still have the check engine light still on and now the codes are 71,72,74

I don't know what the next step should be on fixin this

Replace the fuel filter and check the coil and ICM in the distributor.

how would i know if the icm and coil goes bad?

Remove the ICM and have an auto parts store test it.

You can test the coil this way:
