random misfire cyl 1,2,and 3
ok have a 97 civic with a stock ls swap in it. all of a sudden after it has gotten colder out i will get a random misfire in those 3 cyl's. replaced plugs, wires, and got a different dizzy. hasnt helped at all. it only does it at low rpms then once it gets higher it will be fine. the idle will drop really low also when it starts to misfire. anyone know what else it can be? also checked o2's. possibly timing? put on a new belt when we did the swap and it was fine until just recently. thanks for any help

it actually could be anything. Could be your wiring loose or wires not grounding properly. Are you throwing any cel. Dang i just moved out of nebraska to utah. i probably could of stopped by and figure it out. yeah i did a swap an obd1 ls swap into my cousin's 97 hx. And it started to act up like yours But the problem was one of my wiring job came loose. i dunno.

if it just started to act up. It could be bad injectors or it being clogged. Check your fuel filter. It wouldnt hurt to dump some fuel treatment into your gas tank. They're couple bucks at napa or your local auto center. let us know what's up if you get if figure out.

when it misses try to tap the injectors with a srewdriver, dohc non v-tec motors are notorious for stuck injectors. I dont know if they use it where you are, but they oxygenate the gas in the winter down here and it breaks up all the crap in the tank and the lines and makes the injectors stick. amke sure you have ngk plugs as well. check the valve clearance as well cuz when its cold the metal contracts more which increases the gap.

i had this problem last nite. I was throwing cel codes 71,73 and 74. Replaced my cap and rotor and still had a problem. Then i checked the fuel injectors by unplugging and replugging the sensors one by one. when i pulled out the sensor from injector 2, the car had no reaction. I tapped and turned it a little and car instantly ran smoother. my check engine light didnt go away so i reset my ecu and now everything is back to normal.
cliff notes: check ur injectors.
