Default random brake pedal during bleeding and driving before that

So i had a sometimes soft brake pedal and thought i needed to bleed them. Got under the hood and saw that the master cylinder seemed to be leaking at the booster. No big deal i decided to get a new master. So i put the new one one in and not really getting the air out like it should. So i pull the master off and manually pump it and fluid starts to drop and flow throught the system like it should. Check the piston while it was off to make sure it was pumping, it was. I then reconnect it and get a friend to pump the brakes while im looking in the master to make sure it pumps, check the booster piston to make sure it moved while it was off, it did in and out no problem. So she starts to pump and im finally getting air and fluid dropping, all seemed good. Then the peddle goes back to a soft feel and the piston doesnt seem to be moving again in the master. I no longer get the normal air out of the system. What could be the problem?

Thanks

Sounds like the pushrod isn't correctly adjusted or the master cylinder is bad out of the box.

How do you adjust the pushrod?

You need the Honda pushrod adjustment gauge #07JAG-SD40100 and the service manual.
