Raising motor for more oil pan clearance?! help please!
So im trying to research for my friend, because he is in the whole slammed thing, he keeps breaking his oil pans and wants to lift his d series... how would one go about lifting the motor, i heard about the whole washer thing, but wouldnt the washers on the transmission mount just push the motor away from the subframe vs lifting it higher in the air?... if anyone could help me out with a link to a diy or something that would be great! he has a 1997 Honda civic HX with the stock d16y5, i tried doing some research couldn't really find anything, any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!

If you disagree with your friend, you could always tell him to do his own research, or avoid the **** in the road that's breaking his pan. Just sayin'.

Tell him to put frickin hydraulic suspension or something on his car, that way he can raise it to a driveable height when need be, or stop the car and slam it for show!

There really isn't any way to raise the engine, it is possibly to lower it with washers (had to do this once on a GS-R swap that rubbed against the hood) but there just isn't any way to go higher.

I've heard of redrilling the mounts on certain chassis like the ef/da. I do not know much about it other than the drivers mount on the chassis has plenty of room to re-drill but not sure how strong it is.

A car that low can not be a daily driver, therefore he should invest in some type of airbag or hydraulic system to raise/lower the car to his liking.
