alright, so i did my swap about a week ago and it has been running well. i got in my new ngk plug wires and put them on. so while driving around it started to rain. after a while my speedo stopped working and right when it did the CEL came on. so i stop and unplug the vss plug and it felt like it might have been damp but i couldnt tell. so i attempted to dry it off. the speedo kept going off and on, and then after a while of driving fine, the car started to studder, it would stop studdering if i was at full throttle though. the studdering comes and goes, and it doesnt studder at all at full throttle. what could it be? and the cel occasionally comes on too. gonna check what the code is soon.

mine did something similar when i had my b16a1. it turned out to be the o2 sensors.. i fixed it by running no sensors.. the car was looking for 2 but the motor only had one. so i reset the ecu unplugged the sensor and ran it like that. it was more powerful and never stuttered again.. i was happy that day. hth. lata

if your speedo is jumping all over the place you may have blown your alternator/speed sensor fuse. That happened in my car and my CEL came on and I was throwing like 3-4 codes i think (o2, vss, etc...). I couldn't figure it out until my Honda mechanic buddy told me to pull that fuse on the interior fuse panel, and sure enough it was blown. After replacing it everything worked fine, and no CEL.

grounds are good, it just started happening today after a week of driving. the cel came on once a while back, but i think its because coolant was low and once it was filled it never came back on until today.

alright, i checked my codes. still throwing cel 1 and now 17 too. it studders after a while of driving. it only seems to run fine for a while after starting it, and the studdering still goes away when im totally on the throttle. it doesnt want to accelerate at all unless im at full throttle. also, the speedo comes and goes. its connected correctly at the vss. the car was running fine until last night when the rain came. now studdering and speedo crap.

CEL 17=VSS

what should i do?

Have you checked the fuse for the speed sensor??

which fuse is it. i looked at the diagram under dash and in engine bay. which one would it be? 92vx w/b18b swap.

Had the same problem with my OEM header/manifold....turned out to be a 02 sensor i replaced it and it had the same problem then i bought DC sports header and it is now fine with yet another 02 sensor.
