Default Rain/Humidity Fuel Pump Engagement

Hey what's up guys, I have recently purchased a 95 Honda Civic DX and everytime it rains, the car does not want to start at all. I have to wait for it to dry off until the fuel pump wants to enage again, then were fine. I cleaned all of the grounds, and still im getting issues. i pulled the main relay, tested it and it came out fine. Im not sure what else could be making the car do this. Can anybody help me????

Resolder all the main relay contacts and retry.

I already did that, so what's the next step to that?

You said you only tested it, so did you test it, or did you actually resolder it?

Could be the ECU. Common problem. Moisture effects the circuit board capacitors especially C14. Try another known good ECU.

Okay, I could do that. It is damp on the passenger side, I'm not sure where the water is coming it. How would I get to the ecu?

The ecu is located under the carpeting on the passenger side footwell wall.
It's held in place by a brace with 10 mm bolts. Remove the bolts and when the ecu is free you will have enough slack to remove the wire harness connectors. There is a label on the side of the ECU with a part number. You want to get the exact same ECU to avoid complications. Check with local junk yards for that part number. Probably about $125.

When I replaced my ECU I hung a piece of plastic over it to act as a moisture shield.
Civics leak in that area thru the body and fender well.

How did you do that? What kind of plastic did you use?

I used a piece of plastic drop cloth and just made a tent over the ecu before I rebolted the ecu in place. I didn't seal it tight or it would trap moisture inside the plastic. I just didn't want moisture from above drip or condense on the ecu body. Than I placed the carpet back over the ecu.
