Default Radio won't work after wire sparked

Here's my scenario. A few days ago i installed an aftermarket stereo on my '93 Honda del sol. I cut the harness from the car and wired it with the ones from the aftermarket stereo. Today i tried to take out the stereo to do some work and it seems like one of the wires shorted out. I tried to run the ground wire directly from any part of the car to the wire of the stereo, and the stereo still would not start. I then installed my old stereo on and that stereo would not start either. I have checked all the fuses and they are all fine. My only question remains is can the wiring harness from the car short out? Or am i still missing something?..

My guess is that you missed a blown fuse.

How did you check the fuses? You need to test them for voltage at both top test tabs.

Circuit tester (bulb)

I just went to check each one under the hood, did both sides of fuses and all of them lit up. Im real stuck at this point and have no music to my ears :/

Reattach all the wires to the original plug and then get a proper wiring harness and you will never have this problem. Don't hack wires.

The radio gets voltage on three wires. Two are needed for the radio to work -- constant power from hood fuse box and power from the ignition switch through the dash fuse box. Use your test light to check whether those two wires have voltage at the radio.

When i got the vehicle it already had those wires spliced onto an aftermarket stereo. I dont understand why people do this instead of buying a harness.

On the other hand, i already have this problem. How can i find out if my wires from the car are shorted out?

If the radio gets voltage on both wires and also has good ground, then you may have fried the radio.

Some radios also have built in fuses. I know a few of my head units do. But since you said your old radio wouldn't start either, my bet is you screwed up your wiring. Are you sure you are grounding it to clean metal?

You said you checked fuses underhood and on the radio, how about the underdash fusebox that houses the radio fuse?

First of all thanks to all who contributed on trying to solve my problem.

Stupid me, i didn't check the fuses that are near the steering column. That being said i did find the 15A fuse blown. Replaced it and now i got my stereo working.
