radiator took a **** all over my engine bay
well luckly i was only driving 5 mins to pick up my gf but when i pulled into my driveway and was turning off my car i noticed smoke and i thought nothing of it but it didnt go away so i was like ah **** and popped my hood. it was too hot to check at the time and havent done it yet but there was coolant all over my intake, the part where the latch is, on top of the radiatior, almost the complete left side of my engine bay and covered half of my hood. im pretty sure im gonna have to replace it so is it really easy as draining and a couple bolts or is there more too it? is a kragen dual core radiator good just for my stock z6 and where are the most common places for a radiator to brake and what causes it?

Well the leak is coming from the top of the radiator because of where you described the leaks. Check the main hose that runs to the engine. That might be disconnected, torn or loose.

i checked the hose, it seemed fine but i didnt really get into it cuz it was hot and theres like no coolant in the overflow tank

That same thing happend to me, I took it to a radiator shop and they said they couldnt fix it. Replacing it is pretty easy, just drain the coolant, unbolt the 1 bolt that holds the radiator in and replace. I think I got my new one for around $100 bucks.

The most common place for the radiator to break is in the hose area. They get weak, swell, wear out, etc, and then squirt.
The other place would be a corner or just around the cap. Sometimes, the hood goes down too far when you slam it shut, and it hits the cap and cracks the radiator- you can fix it but it wont do any good unless you also adjust the ***** that the hood sits on.
If the radiator mounts get too loose, the radiator jiggles and can vibrate against something and will crack open eventually.
All three of these things have happened to me.
