Its up to you. Do you want to spend $80 on a no name raidiator thats a universal fit? Or do you wanna spend $200 on a raidiator that you know is meant for your car? You could always get a junkyard part for cheaper if you dont want to spend the extra coin for a new one.

I say stick to oem.

i say NIETHER the plastic and aluminum radiators are prone to crack. you would be better off getting a full aluminum radiator will look better, and last longer then any OEM radiator. ive had my koyo radiator for years with no problems

I'm going through this too. I am getting an autozone one. Firefighter discount and they have limited lifetime warranty anyway. It is on my old DD though.

LIMITED lifetime.... thats not a life time no questions asked warranty. it will bust again sooner or later every radiator from any car ive seen that is plastic and aluminum crack and leak after a while. an all aluminum is worth the money even a cheap ebay one would work its worth the little extra mulah and piece of mind. many are even cheaper then the autozone replacement. koyo is a good brand and so is fluidline . they will cost a bit more though i dont know how deep your pocket is or what your plans are for the car. if u wanna drive it a bit and sell it then id get a autozone rad and roll on. if u wanna keep it forever id spend the lil extra money.

It`s funny...the OEM plastic and aluminum one my dad had in the car since 95` didn`t crack, bust, or leak until sometime in 2010... I`ve had a Pepboys one in my car since than and have had no issues.

If your not building the car for crazy hp`s or anything like that, you can go with a Pepboys or AutoZone one, (or OEM Honda, if you have the extra funds, but they do the same). There`s no need to spend money on something from Ebay that may not even work the way it`s supposed to, or even fit for that matter.

Do advanced auto parts if you have one in your area. Order online + 20-30% online code + pickup in store = FTW. Right now they have one 79.99 + P20 (20% coupon code) + pick up at your local store immediately after you order = $64

I'd say go by the year and miles on your car. Low miles and a newer car would justify a nicer radiator.

Bought plastic one for 98 CRV for less than $80 on Ebay from AEON Imports about 4 years ago, still works great. Careful tightening screws as square nuts are enbedded in plastic and will "strip" out the plastic mold around it. Had to improvise on one myself before I learned.

Easly to replace. Drain. Remove hose in and out. May have to replace fans or just unplug in the engine compartment and remove fans outside. Depends on what car you are working on. Couple of bolt at top. Just posts and grommets at the bottom so just pulls out. Also, tranny fluid is recirced at the bottom so take care to loosen brass nut on line or alum male fitting on radiator. I found this to be the most troublesome part of the job because of where it is located and the difficulty of lining it up with one hand. Probably easier if you can get up on jacks but i did totally at ground level. Careful also to find a way to keep from losing tranny fluid. You will lose some that you will have to replace. MUST USE HONDA TRANNY FLUID TO REPLACE.

Depends on the person. There are people on here that have cars that are well over 17 years old and put in an all aluminum rad.

The only two reason`s that I have come up with for having an all aluminum rad is either for show cars or if your intent on having that bling factor... But for a dd, the basic plastic/aluminum one is more than perfect.

My two cents...

as an O'reilly Auto Parts employee, our lifetime warranty is legit. I have one in my car now. However I don't expect it to last as long as my OEM radiator, which last from 1993 until about 4 months ago lol. Still cooled fine, just formed a small crack in the plastic tank

I've got a automatic radiator in mine. It's a cheap form of a performance radiator

Some radiators on automagics have a separate chamber for transmission cooling. For the 92-00, this is not true - they are all the same. As for using an automatic radiator as a "performance" upgrade, there's no truth behind that.

If you saying any 5th gen doesn`t have that chamber, than your wrong. Cause my auto EJ1 has the two tranny fluid lines running to and from the rad...

I don't think anyone was confusing that. I would also like to think that I just clarified everything in my last post.

Honestly, I think at this point, this is a mute thread. I think the op has gotten enough info to get what they needed.

But I do see what your saying.
