Radiator fan not working.
Whats up guys:
My car has been overheating at idle lately and I noticed that my rad fan wasn't kicking on. Anyone know what would cause the fan to not come on?

Start small, something like fuses. Then check wiring to the fan itself. Do you have A/C still installed on the car? See if that fan kicks on. Check the coolant temperature sensor for corrosion and continuity.

I checked that out when i got it smogged, the fan doesnt kick on when i turn on the ac. I have a feeling its the thermo sensor plug, but ill still check all the little stuff first. thanks for the input.

If you really want to start simple.. First things first, jump power to the load.. If it works, you've ruled out a bad fan motor..

start there and check all fuses but if I had to bet my .02 it would be on the fan relay.

Start by jumping (paperclip, ignition on) the thermo switch plug(side/back of thermostat housing). If the fan comes on you've verified that everything but the thermo switch and thermostat is good.
If there's not enough coolant in the system(bubbles/damn near empty), the fan won't come on.
If the thermostat is stuck closed, the fan won't come on.
