radiator fan necessary?
i have a b18b1 with a full size dual core mishimoto radiator in my integra and im wondering if i need to have a radiator fan. when i drive it the temp stays a little below half. but when it sits there idling the temp slowly rises. its low on antifreeze right now so i dont know if that plays much of a factor but its used as a daily. with a radiator this size i just want to know if i need to go out and purchase a fan.

Re: radiator fan necessary?
well when you are on the road moving you are getting air flowing through ur radiator cooling fins so thats what cools down ur antifreeze and engine, but when you sit in one place idling your radiator cant really do its job because there is nothing cooling the antifreeze or disepating the heat from the engine. the fan would pull air through the radiator fins simulating a moving motion and cooling down the anifreze more and also circulate air into ur engine bay.

Are you trying to make your engine bay THAT clean looking? Or just f*** your motor up? It would be stupid to ruin your motor because of something so simple.

Re: radiator fan necessary?
as stated above, the fan creates airflow when the car's motion doesn't.
the radiator cools the engine using airflow over the fins to pull heat from the coolant in the radiator.
low coolant will certainly cause cooling issues, it may also cause premature water pump failure. So fill it up asap.
if you want to clean up the engine bay a little, pick up a good quality pusher fan and mount it in front of the radiator. (minimum of ~1000 cfm)
