Radiator fan isn't spinning.
Sup guys. I don't know if my car is having a problem or if this is normal. I let the car idle for like 20 minutes and i'm revving the engine every few minutes because i'm using some throttle body cleaner. Anyway I noticed that the radiator fan wasn't even spinning.
I can't tell my car temp because the temp gauge is broken on my cluster. Does anyone know when the fan is supposed to start spinning?

Yeah, fortunately I dont drive this car around. It's a garaged project car that I dont plan to drive around until summer. I'll get that gauge asap... But just wondering, Could it possibly be the thermostat thingy? Do u know what i'm talking about? the little metal piece on the block that has all the tubes that connect to it?
Oh yeah and its not too cold where I live. probably like 55

bad thermo if stuck open will cause over cooling, if stuck closed will cause the car to overheat...

So even if it were stuck closed, the radiator fan would still work right? I'm just wondering if maybe the thermostat, if broken, would throw off the temp and make the fan not run when it should be running. =P jw.

Mine seems like it never comes on either, but it does come on on rare occasions and turns off quickly after. I'm up in Seattle and lately it's been 30-50 degrees F out so I'm guessing it's cold enough.

Yep. This started about a month ago. I thought my fan was broken too.

Re: Radiator fan isn't spinning. (The-Beast)
Bump, still need help. Anyone have any ideas on how to diagnose the problem?
One thing to keep note of. I did notice a VERY SMALL AMOUNT of smoke coming from somewhere near the thermostat area. Not saying its coming from the thermostat but it was comign from that area.
thx
