Radiator Fan/Climate control doesn't work
My radiator fan won't turn on I leave it on and it starts to overheat after a while. Checked the fuses and replaced the relay and it still doesn't start. Another thing is the climate control isn't working at all. Any other suggestions?

So when you slide the fan **** on your climate control, it dont turn on rite? ...AND your radiator fan dont turn on either...hmm, sounds like something electrical. Look it up in the helms manual.

For your radiator fan you might want to check the thermo switch. I had to change mine and it worked. But then after a year it happened again. I changed the front wire harness, checked the fuses and changed the thermo switch again and nothing. I just ened up making a switch so I can turn the fan on and off . Hope that works.

Going to be fuse or relay related most likely. Both of those parts are under the same fuse. Radiator fan and heater controls, so recheck it and go from there, either something is unplugged, fuse is dead or possibility of wiring.

If you look on your fuse panel (under dash), it will be the one with, I believe it's under blower motor.

I replaced both the cooling fan relay and the other relay that was connected to the frame but the fan still wont run. I tried to jump the thermo switch but it wouldnt come on either.. Should i replace the heater relay also?

Everything in the climate control isnt working. Just when you turn on the headlights it lights up. Is there a fuse for this cause i cant find the blower fuse. And no i dont have ac so there isnt a relay for that. Should i replace my heater relay thats under the hood?

Re: (shooitslinh)
have you tried replacing the coolant temperature switch? It is a sensor located on the motor, i believe its about 20 bucks at autozone. There are 2 of them, one controls the temp guage on the dash and the other one controls when to turn on the fan. I forgot which is which but one is located on the thermostat housing and one is right under the distributor.
When my fan wasnt working, i took both of these off a spare motor in my garage and it worked like a charm.

If you have a volt meter, check for voltage at the fan plug. Read it with both probes in the fan connector. If no voltage, read it by probing the hot wire at the connector and get your ground at the battery. Do this with the car on and a/c on by the way. Sometimes these fan motors loose there ground. If still no voltage, go back to the switch and read it the same way getting your ground from the battery. If still no voltage, check the relay. Some hondas have the same relay on the power windows and you could swap them.

Re: (shooitslinh)
Sorry, I don't drive a civic. My honda has a temp sensor under the dist, a coolant temp sensor in the thermostat housing, and the fan switch is in the outlet housing where the top hose is.

No. Somewhere on the outlet side of the cooling system there is a fan switch. It's not the one in the thermostat housing. Thats the one that sends the signal to the temp guage. And I believe the one under the dist is the one that sends the signal to the ECU. There should be one more for the fan switch.

Is your engine hot enough for the fan to come on while your doing these tests? If it is hot enough, try sticking a wire through the back of the connector on the ground side and running it directly to the battery ground.
