Are speeding tickets worth it?
In the long run you save. I have gotton two speeding tickets when just accerating to change gears, not trying to speed. Always remember to SLAM on the brakes the second you see a cop with a radar. It continues to calculate, so while you are braking, the speed on the radar drops, and the cop gets angry.
As a side note, here is something to try if you have a speeding ticket. First off, let me explain. My sister works for Microsoft, the empolyee's she works with all have very very expensive fast cars, with outstanding speeding records. Their secret is when they mail the ticket back to the city hall, they add $.1 cent extra. Technicaly the ticket cannot be put on record unless it is fully paid, they have to return the $.1 cent to have it put on. Otherwise it is illigal. Also, since the employee's move to newer, nicer homes it makes it even harder to track them, and the paper work gets lost though all the pending, or never settles for years. Something to try if you are deperate.
As for "****" ***** (as you put it) I have black interior and I like the look of gunmetal or carbon fiber, just a thought...

A. Radar detectors are very very worth it. One speeding ticket alone will pay for itself. For the budget you have, I would get either a Passport or Escort, same company.
B. Do what prsi says, pay the ticket with a little extra, and when they send you a check back for the change, DO NOT DEPOSIT IT! This leaves the transaction open and points cannot be assessed on your liscense until the transaction is closed.

If you get a good radar detector then it is worth it. Before my car was broken into I had a $200 cobra unit that saved my butt numerous times on I-40 in NC. I think it seems what kind of radar detector you get is important. Some radar detectors seem to almost continously go off, others never go off. I'm not sure what the best model is out right now in that price range, if they still made my model I would get it again, but I haven't found it.
As far as shift *****, I think this belongs in cosmetic forum, but I like my look alike type R shifter. It's titanium, heavy. When I took it off for a while I was grinding gears when I drove hard because I got used to the weight that helped throw the shifter through the gears. The new DC sport shifters are similiar to these shift *****, nice and weighty but many more colors. Only complaint with these ***** is that they will get hot as heck in a hot car. When I leave mine in the parking lot all day I hate touching the **** because it is so hot.

[Edit]
But now that I think about it, this is why dropped cars with tight suspensions are really good!

Yes, when the check for your change comes in, do everything in your power to make sure it seems you did not get it at all. Tear it up into pieces, put it through the food grinder in your sink, burn it, anything you can to make it seemed like you never got it.

I don't know where you can get a **** ****. Just kidding!
I have a shift **** from an S2000, it has red engraving with 6 speeds.
Now all I need is to figure out how to swap a 6 speed tranny in my B18C.
