okay, i've got my eyes on a pair of nrg seats with black cloth and red stitching....only thing is, they don't come with brackets...
is it truly necessary to buy brackets? the ones on my stock seats work just fine, and i don't want to spend a ridiculous amount just to get them to work...however, I don't want to have to weld or go through a whole lot of hassle to get them to work...any advice?

you cant use your stock brackets, unless you want to drill holes in your new seats.

your stock brackets dont mount anywhere near where you need them to be for aftermarket seats.

okay, so what are the cheapest anyone can quote me for them? i found a pair for universal seats for 60 bucks shipped...does anyone have any used ones for cheaper?

why would you want the cheapest possible piece holding your seat, that holds you, that keeps you from getting mangled in the car in a crash? stupid.

hey, now, there's no need to call me stupid...Also, if you read previously, i never said that safety wasn't a concern...All i said was that i wanted to save money...

In any case, what you are saying is that anyone that tries to install integra seats or actual recaro type r seats from an actual integra type r is stupid? explain your reasoning...because everyone i know with those seat choices had to use the stock brackets...maybe if i were more like you, i wouldn't need to ask questions to experienced honda tuners because I'd know all the answers to life...slamming an inexperienced tuner doesn't solve anything, and it only really shows your ignorance...you may as well have not even posted...

anyway, let me rephrase...can anyone comment on ebay seat brackets for universal seats? or what about universal seats that come with brackets for 95% of cars?

what he is trying to say is that if you get in a crash, those cheap ebay seats are going to snap like toothpicks and most likely be the reason that cops will be banging on your parents/wifes door telling them you died in a minor car crash. dont gamble your saftey to save a few bucks. $60 shipped for a pair of seats should have been the best reason not to buy them. also not to be an *** so please dont be offended but if you have not tuned a cars ecu, you are not a tuner. you are just like me. a honda owner/lover. good luck. i pray that you dont buy those seats that have about 15 dollars worth of parts and labor in them.

okay...i understand your definition of tuner...mine is more mainstream, but i don't want to be seen as a loser or weird...thanks for correcting...however, i have soldered a hondata s100 chip myself...does that meet your definition?

its not the rails that concern me, its the seats. look in the honda tech market place. i see good deals everyday for gsr black leather and ep seats. just look around. word of advice is be careful about buying performence parts and ultra cheap items. if they cost 30 apiece shipped, can you imajine how much they cost to build. the seller most likely got each one for under 20 bucks. i wouldnt trust them. same thing goes for ebay steering wheels. wouldnt want one to snapoff during a race. that would be real life horror.

yea...i actually have a crappy ebay steering wheel with a fake bride logo centerpiece...you can tell it's fake because the leather is separating from the core at the handles...plus, the center logo comes off, which it shouldn't...I don't have power steering, so i'm also gonna buy a better wheel...
