The Magnaflow oval muffler isn't too bad. Mine did get buzzy over 3500 RPM, but I think a resonator would've solved that problem.

get the biggest muffler you can find, and it'll be the quietest. my magnaflow was really quiet.

Any straight-through muffler will be pretty loud. Buy a style that you like and have a nice big resonator welded to the exhaust piping. That will not only quiet the volume but take away a lot of raspiness.

Try the Apexi World Sport. It's not loud and it's not a flashy looking exhaust. Nice sound under load without sounding like bees or hamsters are powering it.

Great exhaust but not straight through like the topic is requesting.

"quietest straight through design muffler" is like a double negative. You want the power and looks but don't want the sound. Make a midpipes of just resonators and cats. Don't really know of any quiet straight though mufflers. Just sounds funny saying it like saying "did you ever see that fast geo metro?"

Magnaflow.
When I got mine I got the model with the center/offset design so there is a slight angle and isnt totally striaght through. It helped along with the 26" magnaflow resonator

full magnaflow cat-back would be a good choice, ES Oval would be a good choice as well. However I don't think that there is really any such thing as a *quiet* straight thru. Some are just less loud than others.

well.....odviously if there is more than one straight through muffler there has to be a quietest of them all!!....they may be all fairly loud but i was wondering which was the quietest!!!
as for the geo metro thing..........that was just dumb.

I want to build a fast motorswapped Geo Metro street beater just to f**k with people who assume that nothing that says "Geo" on it could be fast . . . plus, there's a local guy in Colorado who roadraces a Suzuki Swift in GP with good success. ("GP" does not mean it's a Geo-only Production class)

Check out the 1st and 2nd place finishes. Any lightweight car can be modified to be fast/handle well.

like a lot of people said, all the straight throughs are pretty loud by themselves, and I agree with people who said to get a pretty big one because they have more sound deadning material inside of them.
but if you keep your cat, use the right dia. piping, no bigger than 2.75, and use a resonator, or mabey even two, you'll have a nice sounding exhaust without too much noise and pretty good power , without spending too much money.
and be sure to get quality parts with good welds inside and out for best flow and reliability. hope this helps you out a little more, and good luck!
