Quietest available exhaust for 95 Civic
Hey guys! New here. Used to posting about my other car (STi), but not my daily beater. Recently my stock exhaust decided to rust out in a few spots, and the volume of the exhaust has gotten to the point of being uncomfortable.
While my Subaru is loud and obnoxious, I want a quiet and comfy daily for my commute and putting around town. It seems finding a stock catback isn't too terribly easy, and my friend recommended I go aftermarket.
I want someone that is stock level or quieter if possible. As close to that as I can get. I am not familiar with the Honda aftermarket world, and I am completely lost. What are some good ones to look at? I'd like to keep this as cheap as possible due to it just being a beater. I am NOT looking for any performance gains at all.
Recommendations for the situation? Recomms. on exhausts?
Thanks,
Anthony

Not another one of these threads.
I know you're new but try and do a search next time.

The reason I did post though, even after seeing some of those threads is because even though they were looking for a quiet exhaust they still wanted some kind of nice tone to it - whereas I am going for completely quiet/don't care about performance.
Thanks for not flaming me though.

There is a list of reputable wholesale OEM parts dealers in the FAQ, they don't like us posting links in the forums.
Myself and a few other members have replaced our exhaust systems with brand new oem parts and shipped I spent just under $300

Re: Quietest available exhaust for 95 Civic
I have a 05 STi as my fast car, and a 95 civic VX as my DD/beater as well. My exhaust wore out and just went to a local exhaust shop and had them put a new exhaust from the cat back with a generic resonator and generic quiet muffler as I asked for and it was done. quiet and cheap. Not trying to get any performance out of the vx, so no need for some more performance oriented muffler.

replacement cat back from honda is about 300ish, i purchased one not that long ago for my hatch or if you don't want to spend that much have a muffler shop repair the pipe and weld on a stock muffler

EBay twin loops are said to be quiet. Or get a Walker or some other decent OEM replacement muffler. Unless you modify the engine, you won't see any gain from exhaust. Just save the money and keep it low key.
And by the way, just buy prebent tubing. Usually it's thicker than tubing bent at a shop.

Re: Quietest available exhaust for 95 Civic
I'm looking for a super quiet exhaust as well. My research has led me to the Magnaflow 12586- 5x11x22 with a 10436- 4"x22" round resonator. Local exhaust shops should carry them. Best of all they are pretty cheap. The muffler is $97 and the resonator is $73. Plus they have a lifetime warranty. There is a clip with a turbo miata and just the muffler on youtube. Its pretty damn quiet with not much tone. I measured my 94 coupe and it should fit. It will go all the way to the bumper if mounted where the stock one is.

I've been looking on ebay and local craigslist ads for an OEM one. I don't know what all fits the car, as I don't waste my time attempting to mod this turd.
