The fact is, most cars in stock or lightly modified form take in enough air with the stock throttle body. Having a larger TB only increases the Cross-sectional area (CSA) or area through which air can pass. If you increase the CSA without an increase in demand for the added air, you inherently lower the air velocity which in turn diminishes throttle response and low-midrange torque.
