Quick Skunk2 intake manifold question
Hello!
So last night I was driving home. (I just swapped a GSR motor in my CX hatch 60 miles ago) When I did the swap I put a Skunk2 intake mani on. There was one little fitting that I capped off. The circled one in the picture. Well 60 miles later it popped off.
Should I not have capped this? Is there an actual place this runs to? Or should I just maybe clamp a vacuum cap so it holds better?

If I am looking at the right part then there is coolant coming out of it right? if so then there should be a hose that goes to the inlet of the fast idle thermal valve or fitv and then the outlet if the fitv goes to one side of the iac then the outlet to that goes to the back of the motor where the water tube is or whatever it is called.

exaclty what i was thinking, that's a coolant line bro, im surprised it stayed on for 60 miles without your car overheating from coolant loss.

I'm a bit lost in where the coolant line goes and what the fitv is though Sorry to be so newb but could you show me a digram or something. or even a link that explains it.

take a picture of your bay, emphasizing your throttle body and ill point it out for you.
edit: i actually just finished my IM swap (its a PITA with the motor in the car), and im still working out my kinks (my IM rubs the back of my engine bay), i was leaking coolant from that spot that your missing a line and I could tell right away that i was burning coolant. Im sure if you were you'd know right away, from the coolant streaming onto your hot hot downpipe.

thats exactly where i capped mine. I put maybe 100-150 miles on it since i did it. Doesnt leak (used short hose, bolt clamp) I don't have FITV on the tb so i didnt know what to do with it. When are you putting up pics?

Hi,
I have the same manifold as you do on a B16A2 SI, and i cap mines as well and been driving with it like that ever since with 8-PSI of boost and no problems at all.
I did this about 1 year now and its been fine, so is my other friends as well..
good luck....

on the bottom of the throttle body you will see two coolant lines coming out of a piece attached to the bottom of the tb that is the fitv. this is where the coolant line goes.

OK, so I figure the easiest way to figure this out is to show you what I've got going on then show you what I think should be going on. Feel free to draw on one to show me if I'm wrong.
The first picture is what I currently have going on.
The second is what I think I should do.

YEah thats just an unused coolant line you can cap (use a high temp cap), normal rubber will eventually dry out and burst you can work it into the system with a "T" fitting. For example...

Re: (Dc4iNtEgRa)
yea it is kind of hard to tell but you can see the nipple through the tb like Dc4integra shows. if you cap off the fitv then when it warms up you will get the idle that goes up and down. the whole point of the thing is to add air as the vehicle warms up but it needs the coolant to tell. or you could avoid this whole thing and just get you a new aftermarket thottle body.
