Ok yesterday I went to get my 97 EJ8 smoged.Well it passed but I noticed that on the area of timing it said 12 BTDC.Isn't that a little of timing?Is 12*BTDC the correct timing for my car? I tought it was 14*or16* can't really remember.Please someone chime in to tell me what the correct timing is on my D16Y8.Isn't the same for a Z6?

Wtf? I could have swore that someone here told me to set my timing on my other D15B to 16* on my timing gun.Does that mean its advanced.Sorry but im a noob at ignition timing.

just walked out and checked 12 btdc you should have a vehicle emmisions conrol sticker on the under side of you hood, has info like valve lash, ignition timming, vacuum hose diagram, spark plug type and gap etc. thats if you still have your stock hood. take a look

lol its cool dude - im pretty sure it's the same being that motors aren't that much different. i guess just search for it to be positive as im just taking a guess at it. i searched d16y8 timing and found that topic..do the same with d16z6 and d15b and im sure you will find a few topics
