quick question: idle problems.

quick question: idle problems.
searched and found no answer about mini me swap idle.
just finished a mini me swap.
i finally got the crank pulley to come off. and did the timing as best as we could.
we start the car, it had a hard time starting. then it finally starts! whew**
it idles high for a couple of seconds.
then it goes down to about 1500. i dont know if this is normal when its cold [car not warmed up].
-added to that factor im using a msd ignition blaster ss. [which im not sure if its hooked up right, doing a research on it now]
-new plugs and wires.
-all harnesses are secured to where it goes.
now my question is, would advancing or retarding my distributor fix my idle??
also had a hard time starting, which could be the battery??
anyone? help is much appreciated.

you tried adjusting the screw on the throttle body? try turning this or messing with your throttle cable to make the idle drop down a bit. it has to be something that needs adjusting...nothing that i can think of will make it idle high. do you have any cel's?
