Quick Question- GSR Cluster into EG....PROBLEMS!!!!! please help
hey guys....
i watched plenty of people swap out there old skool EG gauges for the GSR ones. I did it myself only for the larger sized tach and also at 9.5 redline cutoff. I have a BIG PROBLEM though. I purposely didn't wire everything up, only things that were critical. Everything works EXCEPT the SPEEDOMETER doesn't read very well. On the on ramp on a free way, if i punch it through gears, ill hit 70 or so, but my cluster reads 100mph. HAS anyone else encountered this problem. Can anyone help me solve this, or should i just go back to EG cluster, which i would hate to re-wire. Is there a way to reset the speed sensor? Thank you for your help in advance.

check were you soldered the wires at, connection could be loose... I had the same problem with my ITR cluster after ahwile... but it ended up being my speed sensor

It's either the VSS, the speedo itself on the teg cluster or a loose connection.

Re: (resol)
dude.. just wire EVERYTHING up.. so you have loose open wires back there? sounds like a baaad idea as well as a HUGE fire hazard.
your problem is most likely because you did a HALF-*** install job. if you're going to do something, do it right. the first time.
I swapped a GSR cluster into my EH2 in July.. Only problem I've had is that we switched the red/green and orange/green wires, so my "brake" light on the cluster comes on instead of the check engine light when i throw the inevitable code that all hybrids throw..

before you start to say things.....know that i dont ever do "half ***" jobs. my car is a track only car. I dont have an e-brake sensor, my hatch dont open, no door sensors, so its pointless to wire those up, i cut thm so no bare wires, then i capped them off. NO fire hazard.
What i needed help with was to figure out what the problem was, not someone telling me im doing a half *** job.......merakoon.
