Quick question about HID retro and baking headlights.....
Hey guys, I searched and read the 11 page thread about retro fitting HID's. What I want to do eventually is do a retro fit like the one pictured below. Posted by Denis SI in this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=742861
And I also want to bake and paint my headlights. My question is, if I bake and paint my headlights now, when I get the stuff to do the retro fit is it required to open them back up or can all the modification be done without opening them again? Basically I can't afford the HID setup right now (baby on the way) but want to paint my headlights, when I reseal them I am going to use 100% silicone that can't be baked off later. Oh, and this is for a 99-00 SI.

Re: (JSPECHB)
Ok. Well first off i'm, you should know that i'm drunk. 2nd, i think think you should wait until you have the projectors, or whatever the hell you're gonna use to make you HID look pretty before you star baking anything.
Here's what i would do:
(all done in about .5-2 days)
Get all my HID junk.
Bake headlights,
Paint headlights and assembly the HID projectors/whatever
reassemble
if you don't have "ctr" style headlights for a while who the **** cares.... i mean, you'll be working/ going to school/ raising kids/ whatever. I dont care. Just wait till everythings ready, then kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
Work smarter, not harder!!!
Who cares if your not rollin wit the CTR headlights for a week. honda-tech wont know as long as you dont take pictures. We're here to help you, not bitch at you! (within reason)

Well, I thought about it and figured that when I do have an extra $300-$400 HID's probably won't be top of my list so if I do ever do them it will be a ways down the road. So I wanted to paint them tommorrow and under the recomendation of a couple people on here (found through searching ) I wanted to use Duplicolor Graphite paint but I couldn't find any of it anywhere tonight.
Does anyone know where to buy that?
