Re: quick question (stew18564)
The answer is simple. You increase the diameter of your wheel you decrease the wheel gap. You shouldn't have to worry about rubbing the much if any. If you go lower, you can achieve the same effect in reducing wheel gap. It's all pretty much common sense if you think about it.

yes i know its common sense, but the fact that the person im buyin the car from said that she put her friends 17's on one day and it made it look higher and the wheel gap stayed the same, now i dont know if shes lying but my guess would be that the larger the rim, the smaller the wheel gap, simple answer..but i wanna hear what some other people have to say bout it...

Re: (stew18564)
It would be higher (assuming same tire size, 205 40 15 & 205 40 17 for example) because it'd be 2 inches more space between the rotor and the ground, but it would also cut the wheel gap by 2 inches...

do you guys not realize that you're supposed to get lower profile tires with larger diameter wheels, thus ending up with the same overall wheel/tire diameter as the factory setup??? if you were to get 17s with a huge tire, sure the fenderwell gap would be decreased, but the car would also be that much higher off the ground, and it would be ugly as hell. get 15s with a 205-50-15, and just lower the car to your liking. don't bastardize/rice out your civic with 17" wheels

anyway, take 15's compared to 17's. 17's are 2 inches bigger, therefore 1 inch less wheel gap, 1 inch higher off the ground. hope you get it. be happy w/ 15's and "SLAM that bitch!"
