quick question

Default quick question

i have a d16z6 1.6 sohc vtec
so i was wondering lets say i titen the valve's a bit more than the regular
would i have more compresion would i begetting more power?
any help......

no. that just leads to more valvetrain wear.

but wodent it go a bit faster cuz they where to tight at first and some where lose so i went to get a valve adjustment and it went slower

I have the same motor and as soon as I adjusted the valves the car runs alot better, and the valves are alot quiter

If they were adjusted properly it should run better. just cause your butt dyno says your slower doesnt mean your slower.

Its a Dseries for crying out loud. its not going to feel fast.

dude i have always felt the power on my car i use to chirp my wheels in 2nd gear now i really cant make them chirp in second i might just go and make them a bit tighter lets see what happens

too tight and you'll screw it up. get a repair manual for the car. if they are really loose you may be losing power and gaining noise

Do it, I think we need thread showing the damages of over tightening your valves. Don't forgot to REALLY over tighten them, then hold the engine at 7000rpm afterwards...

Not.

Adjust your valves to speak and put the cover back on. Anything more will only DAMAGE things. Want to make your car faster? Get rid of your D series or boost it.

OK U OVER TIGHTEN UR VALVES AND CHANCES ARE THE DAMN THING WILL BARLEY START!!! JUST SET THEM AT STOCK... IF U WANT MORE POWER THAT BAD BUY A CAM

Chirping 2nd gear is not an indication of power. If you are going to adjust your valves, adjust them to spec. I don't have my Helms handy so I can't tell you want the gap tolerance is.

you clutch is on it's way out from all that d series power. tool.
