insurance is partially based on the age of the car... so I imagine since an EG is older and equal to an EK (as far as "class" of vehicle) it should be somewhat cheaper. You should weigh into your decision how much money you've put into your EK and how much you will pay to buy an EG and how much it will cost to get that to the performance level that your EK is at... That in itself may end up making it not worth while. Every year your EK is getting older (obviously) and insurance should be going down due to that... Deep thoughts with Jack!

The only way your insurance will go down is if you manage to find a cheaper company. Just because your car gets older each year doesn't mean your rates go down each year. They usually go UP each year because of inflation and other people's claims. Right now your insurance company isn't using ANY lube on you or even having the courtesy of giving you a reach around. I would do some serious shopping around for better insurance if I were you. Honda's in general (especially civics) are expensive to insure due to their theft rate. Just for a comparison, the insurance on my civic was more than it was on my 300ZX twin turbo. Say that to yourself again and let it sink in for a minute. Ok, now that you're sitting there saying "Holy ****", if you don't want to pay that much for your car each year think about getting something else.

I thought that my 92 Civic would cost more than my 95 Accord becasue I always hear about Civics getting stolen but not to many Accords. But in the end the Civic was much cheaper to insure. Had my Accord for like 2 yrs and had no theft problem, had my Civic for less than 2 months and it was already stolen and it was an all stock CX.
