Default Quick ecu question for a b16

So i think my ecu may be what is causing my bad gas mileage, according to phearable.net the drivers for the injectors may be bad. So I am looking for another ecu to try in the car. A local guy has a pr3 if I try that and my mpg gets better should i buy that from him or should I get a p28 or p30 instead of the pr3. Also if i use the pr3 will there be anything i will have to wire up or something like knock sensor or for that matter if i get a p30 will i need to wire the knock sensor.
