Default Quick Distributor Q

Ok recently a shop installed my swap on my EJ8. They swapped in a GSR but the dizzy on it was F'ed up. So i think he either put a LS or B20 dizzy on it. cuz he cut it and it only has one bolt to hold it....LoL. I was talking to my friend who had given me the swap and said that using that dizzy is not good for my GSR and it would cause problems and not run right. Is this true? Cuz if it is ill go and talk smack and make sure i get a GSR one.

They're pretty much the same on the inside, the difference being the bolt holes and stuff on the outside. This isn't like an old carbed engine where the advance curve is inside the distributor.

Funny this guy states there is a diffirence. His friend works for HONDA. So he said itll leak and not run right cuz its diffirent. Being a b20 and gsr one vtec and the other aint. And its funny cuz my car feels kind of slow and it use to be quicker on the ther car even with the F'ed up dizzy. Thats why it sort of made sense to me.

Leaking is possible - but that's not the same as affecting power. As long as the timing can stay steady and you have set the timing correctly, it won't change the power. (If the connection which drives it can't hold the timing steady, that would hurt power.)
