quick and cheap??
This is not my car. Mine is SIG. My friend has a 93 vx.
I was woundering what kind of power gains would he get w/ this stuff?
(I just want to get him in the 15's)
1. d16z6 or y8 tranny(because of the shorter final drive)
2. thinner head gasket and maybe a mill( how much (mill)& what compression)
3. a dc 4-1
4. is their a factory intake man. that fit that(that flows better=worth it?)
5. throttle body?
any in put would be great!! thanks.

Re: quick and cheap?? (mattcxb18)
you can use a civic Si intake manifold instead of the one that he has on there (single overhead Vtec) it gave my friend a few more horses and runs about 75-100 from a junk yard

y8 intake manifold is supposed to have the best design, and you can probably use the TB on it as well. Is he willing to swap? If you can find a cheap y8 or z6 swap, why not do that, since you are basically adding a bunch of parts from it anyway. (you might as well get the whole thing.)

complete z6 swaps go for 500 around here. I would do that and it would be easier than all the mods you listed. Maybe even cheaper.

I have a b it is great! My friend saves up to be poor. Hey is on a budget. So I am trying to get him quick w/out nitrous for around $500-to 800 dollars. The cheaper the better.
Do you guys think a junk yard turbo would be wise on a vx???

Re: quick and cheap?? (EKology)
If it were me I'd try to find a nice Z6 or Y8 swap and do whatever bolt-ons I had money for after the swap. If he's commited to keeping his current engine, take a look at Spade's thread on SOHC build-ups.
